Learn and Serve America Grantees Help Coordinate Tsunami Relief Response in American Samoa
The Community College National Center for Community Engagement (2006-2009 Learn and Serve Grantee) requests your FINANCIAL assistance to help the American Samoa community. Whatever donation you can make will go a long way for these folks right now - so no donation is too small. Please make your checks out to CCNCCE or Community College National Center for Community Engagement, 1025 N. Country Club Dr., Mesa, AZ 85201 and we will send ONE check to the service learning program team at American Samoa to help them start to rebuild their community.
Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii (2006 - 2009 Learn and Serve America Grantee) is beginning to mobilize relief efforts. Collective donations on behalf of UH Manoa and Kapi'olani Community College can be sent to: American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.

Below you will find additional information on relief efforts for tsunami victims in Samoa and how to donate your time, blood, or money via the American Red Cross. Individual monetary donations are tax deductable.
Please note that donations to American Samoa and Independent Samoa are made via separate funds.

Thank you so much for thinking of us in American Samoa. What happened yesterday was so fast that people were not prepared for it. We only have ONE main road and it goes right next to the sea, and at 6:50am the islands were shaken by the earthquake for about 3mins, and by 7am the tsunami had reached our shores…
